Description

A festive “Guinness Time” poster: Santa raises a bottle beside a Christmas tree decorated with Guinness bottles, while a toucan, seal, pelican, turtle, kangaroo and ostrich join the celebration. Bold red “Guinness Time” lettering crowns the airy composition.

Although sometimes loosely filed as 1940s, the bottom code GA/PI/2377 and catalogued examples place this 1958 Christmas-tree design in the late 1950s.

Signed in the image “Gilroy” (printed signature) and printed by Mills & Rockleys (Production) Ltd., Ipswich in screenprint/litho for high-impact colour.
