Frequently Asked Questions

Are these posters genuine?

Our posters are guaranteed originals; we never sell reproductions. Most are vintage advertising from the first half of the 20th century, although the collection ranges from pre-1900 material to more recent examples.

Why are these posters expensive?

Unlike modern and reproduction posters, very few genuine vintage advertising posters have survived for more than sixty years. Posters are priced according to rarity, condition, and aesthetic appeal.

How many copies do you have?

Most posters and signs are unique items in our current stock, although we may occasionally have more than one example. We often have multiple copies of labels.

What condition are these posters?

Condition varies from item to item and is described on each product page. If you would like more detail about damage, restoration or linen backing before buying, please email giles@dodoposters.com and we will be happy to help.

Are these posters linen-backed?

Almost all of our large posters are “linen-backed” using archival and acid-free materials and methods. We use Japanese tissue and fine linen or cotton canvas. This helps preserve and protect posters, making them easier to handle, store and ship. Generally, small posters can be framed as they are.

In some cases, posters are described as not being linen-backed.

Can you deliver / ship to my address?

We use UPS or an equivalent courier service to deliver posters and large items to most international locations. We use Royal Mail to deliver labels internationally and for all UK deliveries. A signature will be required on delivery.

When will I receive my order?

We usually dispatch orders within two working days of payment receipt into our account.

Royal Mail usually delivers the following working day. Courier deliveries can take 2 – 5 working days depending on your location. Please let us know if you would like a tracking number.

Can I return an item?

Yes. If you are a consumer buying online, you can normally cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. Email Giles at giles@dodoposters.com with your name and order number. For change-of-mind returns, you pay the return postage. See our Returns and Cancellations page for full details.

How much does shipping cost?

Labels are sent in a stiff hard-backed envelope. Posters are sent in a protective poster tube. Shipping costs £10 for deliveries within UK.

Shipping internationally costs £20. Shipping costs will be added to your order.

Will the shipment be insured?

Yes, when we deliver an order to you it is insured.

How can I pay?

You can pay online through Bank Transfer, Debit Card, Credit Card or PayPal.

How much is VAT or sales tax?

We do not charge VAT or sales tax.
