Description

An elegant Champagne advertisement centred on an oval scene: two cats – one black with a bright pink bow, one tabby – pose beside a chilled bottle of Pol Roger and coupe glasses on a white cloth, with a cork on the table. The surrounding field is restrained, titled simply “CHAMPAGNE” above and “Pol Roger & Cie.” below.

Pol Roger, founded in Épernay in 1849, marketed itself internationally as a refined celebratory wine; animal-led designs like this helped brand recognition in cafés, restaurants, and wine merchants.

Signed “H. Crouard” within the image; no printer line is visible, which is common on this type of early-1900s French commercial lithography. The margin crop marks indicate original production trimming guidance.
