Description
This French Armagnac Ryst poster shows a simplified figure climbing cellar steps with bottles in hand, while a separate bottle is spotlighted beneath the bold ARMAGNAC RYST heading. “Condom Gers” identifies the Gascon town and department linked to the brand.
Raymond Savignac built his reputation on witty, instantly legible advertising images, and this small-format issue promotes the Ryst-Dupeyron Armagnac house.
Flat yellow, black, blue and red colour areas, playful asymmetry, and the pared-down figure give the work a transitional Art Deco to post-war modernist feel. The printed “savignac” signature appears lower left, with A. Mulcey, Saint-Étienne credited lower right.
