Description

A colourful Bovril advertisement headed “BOVRIL ADDS THE Savoury Touch,” with a small easel sign reading “ENRICHES SOUPS, STEWS GRAVIES, etc.” The image centres on a steaming casserole as Bovril is spooned into a rich stew; a jar sits on the cooker reinforcing its role as a flavouring ingredient.

Bovril was marketed in Britain not only as a warming drink, but also as a concentrated savoury booster for everyday cooking—especially stews, soups and gravies—matching the domestic, post-war kitchen setting here.

Mid-century illustration with strong colour blocking and commercial offset/litho finish. An oversized proof sheet with registration/crop marks; the trimmed format is the intended 14 × 9 in display size.
