Description

A smiling Black child in striped shorts carries a huge blue cup of steaming coffee on a tray, framed by coffee branches and a pale tropical shoreline. The slogan “…il caffè di oggi, bevuto da sempre!” translates roughly as “the coffee of today, enjoyed forever.”

Made in Italy around 1960 for the Foschi coffee brand, the poster belongs to the bright, optimistic language of post-war beverage advertising. Its plantation setting and racialised child figure reflect period colonial-era marketing imagery that now reads as dated.

Frequently catalogued to Gianrosa and printed by G. Scarpati, Napoli, it uses clean offset colour, broad cream margins and a bold red script logo for strong shop-display impact.
