Description
This original Guinness poster presents a full pint of stout with creamy head beside the slogan “GUINNESS IS GOOD FOR YOU” in large red capitals on a white ground. The long horizontal format and spare layout suggest use as a small-format pub, bar or point-of-sale display.
The slogan had been central to Guinness advertising since the 1930s and remained strongly associated with the brand into the 1960s. The bottom-left code “J./63” indicates a possible 1963 printing, made for the British market.
The design is a clean mid-century lithographic layout, relying on strong colour contrast, simplified glass rendering and bold sans-serif type rather than the earlier narrative Gilroy imagery.
