Description

This original Guinness print shows a comic brewery interior under the series title “The Gentle Art of Making Guinness.” A diver-like worker is suspended over Vat No. 2 while colleagues below shelter with umbrellas, turning fermentation into a deliberately absurd technical spectacle.

The sheet belongs to John Ireland’s twelve-image Guinness calendar series, issued in 1981, with “Fermenting the Guinness” listed as the July subject.

The design uses fine pen line and soft watercolour-style colouring.
