Description
A startled waiter reaches skyward as an early biplane lassoes away a bottle of La Raphaëlle, while glasses tumble from his tray under a smiling crescent moon. The text reads “Créée en 1865” (“Created in 1865”) and “La plus vieille du Dauphiné” (“the oldest in the Dauphiné”).
This promotes Bonal’s La Raphaëlle as a long-established regional liqueur. The design is signed “Rosetti 08”.
Its saturated blue ground, comic narrative and bold yellow lettering give it classic Belle Époque advertising energy. The printer line “Imp. I. Lang, 3 rue du Plâtre, Paris” supports an original French lithographic issue in the grande affiche format.
